Additional Cost Considerations
The cost to add a standard 120 volt electrical switch to an existing nearby circuit will vary because of different types of building construction around the country. 2 or 3 story building will cost more to wire in most cases. Finished basements or lack of attic space will also increase the cost of your electrical project.
The pricing does not included the electricians travel/service call fees (add $50 - $150 per trip of the electrical contractors).
The cost of your local permit and inspection fees if required. Also you think about local building code requirements.
All new 15 and 20 amp 120 volt circuits from the electrical panel box require AFIC or GFIC protection by the NEC (Older fuse and breaker boxes will have to be replaced with modern breakers to meet this requirement).
Unforeseen problems encountered inside the wall space from bracing, fire stops, plumbing pipes, HVAC ducts, insulation and other unknown issues may increase your electrical work costs. Also included some additional money for possible repairs if the electrician is required to cut open the walls or ceiling to fish the wires thru them.
